Features of exposure to childhood adversity in the insular cortex in MDD and PTSD

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

This project aims to create the most comprehensive molecular atlases of the insular cortex which is an important region of the human brain and how it is impacted by early life adversity in depression and PTSD. This proposal presents an exciting possibility for patients as we develop the foundation to initiate a novel way to biologically identify patients exposed to early life adversity, and to identify new and more effective ways to medicinally treat them, overcoming trial-and-error prescribing.
