Living Map: Live Positioning IPS

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Living Map is a VC backed, innovation rich, Bath-based digital location and mapping business led by an experienced management team. We have developed from a best in class design-led digital mapping business into a location technology software as a service (SaaS) business with a unique product suite designed to address the challenges faced in the use and management of assets and for use by people in complex internal and external spaces. As a B2B offer, these sit within our customers' existing touch points of web, kiosk, digital screen or native mobile app.

One of the most important factors in navigating and curating complex spaces is determining user location. The challenge of outdoor location has largely been solved with GPS, but indoor location still poses problems, given the considerable complexity, structural influence and lack of reliable GPS signals.

Recognising this challenge, Living Map has embarked on an ambitious initiative: solving the challenge of indoor location and navigation while remaining hardware agnostic. Living Map is developing a hardware-agnostic positioning system that provides accurate location services, called Live Positioning. An Indoor Positioning SDK empowers software developers with a tool to build a functionality that enhances user experience, powers location-based marketing as well as facilitating real-time visibility and management of assets and people.

The platform offers stakeholders within complex public and private spaces (airports, hospitals, shopping centres, factories, warehouses, mixed-use districts, etc.) cost reductions through operational efficiencies, improved customer experience and greater post-COVID19 resilience for staff and visitors, offering trust and comfort in potentially stressful environments.
