Role of semaphorin signaling in neuronal recovery from dendritic injury: a comparative case study in-vitro and in-vivo

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

When a nervous system suffers an injury, both axons (output segment) and dendrites (input segments) of nerve cells get damaged. Here we induce accurate damage to dendrites with a laser beam to study the neural response, in order to direct future therapeutic strategies. We also nurture and train new scientists, from high school and undergraduate to PhD students, so they can become skilled researchers and freethinking members of the community.
