Description
9454431 Deutschman The New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) will initiate a three-week, commuter, Young Scholars Project in Environmental Waste Management for 30 students entering grades 8 and 9. Under the mentoring of research faculty members of NJIT, the high potential, high ability students (predominately minority) will be instructed in the scientific method and engage in research in the engineering science associated with hazardous substance management and motivated to pursue careers in science and engineering. Additional activities include classroom and laboratory activities, seminars, and field trips.
