Abstract
The effect of replacing the engineering graphics (EG) course with the Fundamentals for Engineering Design (FED) course, on the quality of education program is discussed. The FED course module is a seven-week program which include Computer Aided Design (CAD) component with software tool for three dimensional solid modeling. The module emphasises on writing and other communication skills which are beneficial for the students. The course module assessment reports show that the graduation rate with FED is slightly higher as compared to that of EG.
