Abstract
An algorithm is developed for approximately obtaining the mean waiting time in a queueing problem associated with the continuous patrol of a highway for disabled vehicles. Approximate population time means derived using the algorithm are shown to compare favorably to sample means obtained independently from a Monte Carlo simulation.
