Abstract

This paper describes observations and analyses of multidate Landsat-5 Thematic Mapper (TM) data relevant to algorithms for the measurement of phytoplankton as indexed from shipboard underway fluorescence data. The objective was to establish a quantitative relationship between multidata TM data and in situ sampling for the effective use of remote sensing in assessing water quality conditions of New Jersey nearshore waters.
