Abstract
Terahertz (THz) time-domain spectroscopy has been used to characterise cyclic olefin polymers in the range 0.2-1.2THz. A comparison of the optical properties of the polymer with standard materials currently used to fabricate THz optics, namely high density polyethylene and Picarin, is also presented. This comparison suggests that olefin copolymers are potential candidates for manufacturing optical components for the GHz and THz range.
