COMPLETE CURRICULAR PROGRAM IN CHEMICAL ENGINEERING UTILIZING COMPUTER AIDED PROCESS ENGINEERING.

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

The Chemical Engineering department at Stevens is now engaged in a program of complete curricular revision. High level simulations of fundamental processes are coupled with custom software tools to provide highly interactive packages. These are used to reinforce basic principles taught in the classroom with real application examples. The software, originally configured for a traditional mainframe-terminal environment, is now being re-oriented to run in either stand-alone mode on the DEC PRO-350 personal computer, or in a task sharing mode, with personal computers acting as highly intelligent workstations networked to a mainframe.
