Dielectric-loaded SPP waveguide with a holey ridge for significant propagation-loss reduction

Abstract

A novel dielectric-loaded surface plasmon polariton (DLSPP) waveguide with a nano-hole within the dielectric ridge is proposed. Compared to the conventional DLSPP waveguide, the structure could achieve increased propagation length while maintaining its subwavelength confinement.
