Abstract

The results of an earlier experimental investigation give grounds for using the statistical theory of the flow of dilute suspensions of magnetic ellipsoidal particles in an external magnetic field for describing the magnetorheological effect (MRE). The basic principles of the theory are discussed in this paper.
