Abstract

The data processing culture that prevails in Tunisia in 1988 is in many respects very different from that which prevailed in the USA in the 1960s and '70s. Hence it can hardly be expected that Boehm's COCOMO equations, which are based on 63 American software projects realised between 1965 and 1979, will be applicable to Tunisia today. A survey is conducted in Tunisia to derive specific COCOMO-like equations, which are called TUCOMO. The paper reports on the survey and its preliminary results.
