Abstract

Emission spectra and luminescence time decay of Eu²⁺ ions in KCl crystals annealed at 873 K and quenched to room temperature before irradiation were measured at 80 K after γ-irradiation which was performed at 295 and 200 K. The results are consistent with radiation-induced aggregation of the original isolated europium dipoles.
