Abstract
We consider the design of a space-time coded modulation transmit-receive system employing symbol interleaving. An iterative receiver is derived based on the expectation-maximization algorithm with soft output symbol decoding and estimation of noise variance. The proposed system demonstrates very good performance over fast fading unknown channels in the presence of unknown additive white Gaussian noise.
