Explicit feedback arbitration schemes for crosspoint buffered packet switches

Abstract

A frame-based round-robin arbitration scheme with explicit feedback control (FRE) for combined input-crosspoint buffered (CICB) packet switches have shown high switching performance. In this paper, we propose two FRE derivative schemes and a control model of crosspoint buffers in CICB switches. The proposed FRE schemes provide high throughput.
