Abstract
A sinusoid accompanied by stationary, additive, nonzero-mean, bandlimited, white Gaussian noise is passed through a Gaussian nonlinear characteristic, and the output power spectral density is evaluated by using results due to S. O. Rice (1954) and D. P. Atherton (1962). Several characteristics of the Gaussian nonlinearity are revealed and input tuning is shown to contribute to output noise reduction. The results are applicable in the analysis of tracking systems using sinusoidal dithers.
