Abstract
The fabrication of nanomaterials with helical structures is a hot topic for materials science due to their unique properties and potential applications. In this book chapter, the state of the art for the fabrication of helical nanoarchitectures is discussed in detail for both organic and inorganic materials according to their synthesis methods. The relevant formation mechanisms are also well discussed. Properties of the as-fabricated helical nanoarchitectures are briefly described. It was pointed out that much efforts are still required to be devoted on the well-controlled and large-scale synthesis, property investigation, and application of helical nanoarchitectures.
