Abstract

Results related to the coupling of a perfectly matched layer (PML) type ABC with staggered schemes using a test problem are presented. The scattering problem is embedded in a two-dimensional, infinite homogeneous, lossless, dielectric with εr = 1. It is solved numerically in a test domain ΩC, with boundary ∂ΩC, itself embedded inside RBCs, or by surrounding ΩC with a uniform width PML-type layer ΩS bounded by ∂ΩC on the inside and ∂ΩS on the outside. On ∂ΩS and ∂ΩL we implement a PEC boundary condition using images, thus preserving the interiorscheme spatial order of accuracy.
