Abstract

Bounding surface type plasticity models used to predict the behavior of soils under monotonic and cyclic loading conditions are characterized by complex pressure sensitive criterion, dependence of yield criterion on the third stress invariant, softening/hardening response, nonlinear elasticity. Here the development of efficient procedures to treat these various complexities through the use of algorithms based on implicit schemes for the integration of stresses and plastic variables and consistent tangent moduli will be addressed.
