Abstract
Displacements in the intermediate and output joints of a Clemens coupling constant-velocity universal joint are calculated using the Fischer-Paul dual-number version of the Uicker-Denavit-Hartenberg adaptation of the Newton-Raphson method. The character of the displacements in the intermediate joints is discussed and the deviation from constant-velocity performance induced by manufacturing-tolerance errors is examined.
