note = "Funding Information: Many RMs in the northwest are active in established networks of their peers, meeting quarterly for professional development and information sharing. Network meetings are typically co-sponsored by participating utilities and last an entire day. The morning session often consists of progress summaries from each RM, followed by discussion. The afternoon session usually includes a technical presentation on a topic such as lighting, electrical use monitoring, energy management control systems or energy accounting. Ideally, network meetings include no more than 10-15 RMs since larger gatherings adversely affect the openness and intimacy of the group. Network efforts in Washington State are being coordinated by the Washington State University Cooperative Extension Energy Program (WSUjCEEP) and by the Washington State Department of General Administration (GA). Networking efforts in Oregon are headed by Oregon's Office of Energy. WSU jCEEP's program is called the Total Efficiency Network (TEN), and is funded in part by the Department of Energy Federal En- ergy Management Program (FEMP) and the State Energy Program (SEP). TEN focuses its efforts on establishing and supporting RM positions and programs in large facilities around the country. TEN provides training, informational materials, quarterly network meetings, support, a newsletter, discussion forum, and links to key resources. We are exploring ways to expand the networks to other parts of the country.",
