Abstract
An initial study using lithium chloride was performed at a treatment plant with two sets of aeration tanks. One tank uses diffused air and receives two-thirds of the average flowrate of 3 mgd. The other, smaller tank uses mechanical aeration and was the one chosen for the study. The tracer study in this tank was initiated as part of a broader study of nitrification occurring within the plant.
