Abstract

Measurements have been made of the susceptibility of Fe3Al in the temperature range 300°CT600°C, which encompasses both the magnetic transition (Tc≅300°C) and the order-disorder transition (T0≅530°C.). It was found that various manifestations of the atomic ordering near T0, e.g., the appearance of both long- and short-range order, are mirrored in the temperature dependence of the paramagnetic susceptibility.
