Abstract
A modular approach is suggested for the design and construction of a modern water/wastewater pipeline maintenance management system. Using case studies from microcomputer database management systems developed for the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, key success factors are identified. Planning methodologies for developing a maintenance and capital improvement MIS are recommended.
