Abstract
The paper presents design of a new polycentric knee mechanism using mechanism number six. This kinematic linkage exhibits an overall centrode behavior which matches with that of the actual human knee motion. In this paper, the motivations and the procedure which led to the use of mechanism number six as a knee prosthetic device are discussed.
