Abstract

A comprehensive and exhaustive treatment of membrane gas separation processes covering both the fundamental and the practical aspects is presented. Emphasis is given on a number of recent developments. Topics covered are - membrane configerations, transport rates and separation theory for the following types of membranes: 1) Nonporous homogeneous solid membranes, 2) microporous solid membranes, 3) asymmetric solid membranes, 4) composite membranes and 5) liquid membranes. The design procedure for different types of membranes is outlined.
