Abstract
We propose an intelligent subchannel structuring and orthogonal basis selection algorithm for the discrete multicarrier modulation in this paper. This algorithm examines the unevenness and power levels of the given channel spectrum. The orthogonal modulation basis is well tailored to the properties of the channel in the proposed scheme. It is shown that the proposed approach leads to a less number of unequal bandwidth discrete carriers than the current technology. This provides a reduced complexity in digital transceivers with a near optimum performance.
