Personal computer as an optimization tool for the synthesis of function generating planar four-bar linkages

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

This paper presents optimization schemes based on the personal computer for the synthesis of function generating planar four-bar linkages. Algorithms based on Random Search Method of optimization and the Hooke & Jeeves Pattern Search Method are developed. The efficiency and effectiveness of both the methods are evaluated by solving example problems. The computer running time and accuracy of the solution with both the methods are compared.
