Abstract

The paper presents a survey of pallet research. The paper describes an actual palletization process for a demonstration system developed using a Scorbot ER-V robot, a vision system and a conveyor model. Different random sequences of incoming boxes have been used in running the physical model for testing the effectiveness, efficiency and practicality of this algorithm in a real-world environment. The design of the software system, capable of detecting location and/or orientation errors, is described in details. An application and its results are also illustrated.
