Abstract

The selection of Medium Access Control protocol is a critical and pending issue for All-IP wireless network. MAC is classified as Serial Transmission MAC Protocol and Parallel Transmission MAC Protocol. A Prioritized Parallel Transmission MAC (PPTM) Protocol has been proposed for All-IP wireless network in our previous work. In this paper, we evaluate its performance in a simplified All-IP wireless Wide Area Network and conclude that PPTM performs better than Modified Channel Load Sensing Protocol (MCLSP) does.
