Abstract

We introduce a packet loss control mechanism to emulate the delivery of native services over packet switched network (PSN) using pseudowire (PW). We propose the Virtual Circuit Connectivity Verification (VCCV) Insertion (VI) algorithm for adapting variable bit rate (VBR) PW rates to the dynamics of PSN tunnel. Our approach is compatible to existing PW standards, and its applicability has been demonstrated by analysis.
