Recognition of occluded shapes using relaxation

Abstract

Relaxation methods have been used to segment and recognize shapes that have ambiguous segmentations and that are in contact with other shapes. This paper extends this work to handle major occlusions or missing parts, using a general method of representing shapes by primitive boundary segments.
