Abstract
The solar radio burst event of 6 April 2001 had maximum amplitudes >10−18 W/(m2 Hz) (equivalent to >10, 000 solar flux units) at 1.2 GHz. Such noise levels could readily have caused interference in any cell site antenna that might have been viewing in the direction of the sun at the time of the event.
