Abstract

Contaminated black tarry materials was treated thermally and converted to a material with properties similar to petroleum-based asphalt. This property- improved material was then used as a binder to enclose contaminated concrete debris and soil in the solidification/stabilization process. The final product can be used for medium traffic pavement.
