Abstract
A study is made of objects in chemical technology that are described by a system of linear hyperbolic differential equations with characteristics that have different slopes and arbitrary form. The properties of the impulse-transfer matrix of such systems are studied, and necessary and sufficient conditions for stability both of the object itself and of the closed control system are obtained on the basis of these properties. The conditions are formulated in terms of the transition matrix in the frequency region.
