Abstract

A new, highly functionalized, film-forming, amorphous perylenediimide derivative, 2,9-bis(7-benzothiazol-9,9-didecylfluoren-2-yl)perylene diimide (2) was synthesized. It was thermally stable up to 380 °C and exhibited a T(g) at 118 °C. Photoluminescence experiments demonstrated that 2 underwent intramolecular energy transfer upon excitation of the fluorenyl chromophore.
