Abstract

Previously, we proposed a new antenna array concept called Independently Center-fed Dipole Array (ICDA) for transmitting Ultra-Short-Pulse (USP) or Ultra-Wideband (UWB) signals. We found that such antenna could keep phase and amplitude linear at normal direction to the array plane. Here we introduce beamforming ICDA in order to transmit USP pulse to any specific point on the horizontal plane. Such controllable transmitting property will make ICDA more flexible for various USP/UWB applications.
