Abstract

Repeatability and positioning error test methods based on scalar data currently used by most robot manufacturers do not provide sufficient and precise information about the robot's positioning and orientation errors. As an increased number of robots are going to be used by the precision assembly industry in the near future it is a problem that needs to be solved. The proposed method and software - TESTROBOT - utilises vector analysis to introduce a new standard in measuring the positioning and orientation errors of industrial robots. It is a module of The FMS Software Library. The method and software can be utilised for any industrial robot. The result and description of the TESTROBOT program are presented. This is a module of the FMS Software Library developed by the author.
