Abstract
Beaches in meso-tidal estauries have low wave heights relative to tidal ranges and are often located in short, isolated longshore drift compartments. The excursion rate of the swash and the width of the surf zone prevent the buildup of infragravity energy. Wave energies are low on the low tide terrace, and mean cross-shore flows can be near zero. Major changes in beach slope associated with large storms are confined to the upper foreshore where wave energies are concentrated. -from Authors
