Updating the matrix of factors without refactorization in load-flow studies

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

A modification to the fixed-Jacobian method in polar coordinates is described. The modification consists of updating the elements of the factorized matrix of factors directly to reflect the changes in the unknowns during the iterative solution process. The result is a faster load-flow algorithm. The tested systems include the IEEE 13, 14, 30, and 57-node systems.
