Abstract
The collision of a polymer liquid particle with a solid flat barrier is analyzed numerically. An analysis of the effect of adhesion on the collision dynamics is presented. Estimates of the adhesion force, required to retain the particle on the barrier surface, are obtained. The quantity of heat transferred from the fluid to the barrier is determined. The spreading of a rheologically complex fluid layer over a horizontal surface under the influence of gravity is studied numerically.
