Watermarking algorithm for color images based on 3D-DCT

Abstract

In this paper, a 3D-DCT based watermarking algorithm for color images with blind detection is proposed. By presenting an embedding strategy in 3D-DCT domain for color images, the algorithm hide data as many as 2048 bytes in a color image of 512×512 while implementing blind detection of the hidden information without resorting to the original image and any additional information. The proposed algorithm adopts error-correcting coding (ECC) and data permutation techniques to improve the performance of resisting diverse attacks. The experimental results show that the hidden information is readable even the bit error rate is 3×10-1 ∼ 10-2 induced by attacks in StirMark 3.1.
