Wavelet based muti-resolution algorithm for detection of mammographic microcalcification

Abstract

A wavelet based texture analysis method for the detection and segmentation of microcalcification regions in mammographic images is presented. Wavelet decomposition is used for characterizing the parameters to obtain variations in gray levels up to 2 by 2 pixels. This method provides the basis for the further classification of microcalcification.
