Recently, wavelet transform has been found to be a very productive and efficient tool for image processing, analysis and compression for medical applications.Wavelet transform provides complete spatiofrequency localization for medical images that may be used to remove noise, undesired features and artifact, or to extract useful features for image characterization and classification. This chapter provides an introduction of wavelet transform with decomposition and reconstruction methods for medical image analysis.
